Ethnic Brit – Burberry Prorsum S/S12 (LFW)

20 Sep

Monday 19th September saw the most iconic luxury British fashion label take to the runway at London Fashion Week once again. Front row was filled with the biggest names in fashion and music. Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Kanye West, Ellie Goulding and face of the latest Burberry Body campaign and Transformers leading lady Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to name a few.

Opening their Spring/Summer 2012 collection with the smooth vocals of Joss Stone Burberry Prorsum presented an amazing collection of jewel tones, playful stripes and African tribal influenced prints whilst managing to stay true to its British heritage. This opulent culture mix was achieved by keeping the classic Prorsum base and topping it off with exotic treats. Trench coats with weaved waist belts, pleated midi skirts teamed with Aztec inspired embellished tops, tribal printed outerwear and cute striped bobble hats.

Christopher Bailey offered a casual glam look to this collection. Flattering frame skimming shillouettes, midi length skirts. A Burberry Prorsum collection isn’t complete without a statement outerwear piece which this season was unusually NOT a trench. The show closed with a weaved sleeve fur trimmed parka.

My favourite piece!

Overall verdict is a 10/10 from Pleats, Rhymes & Life. What do you think?

I like outfits 1, 7, and 8 and the coat in outfit #2. That is such an awesome coat you chose as your favorite. Those are really crazy arms but I’m attracted to the idea of woven sleeves.

I am so in love with this collection. Even if CB proposes wool in a ss collection. Just great!
