Adeen Black & White Series Snapbacks

13 Mar

NY based accessory label Adeen is bringing it back to black with the Black & White collection for SS12. The latest lookbook images feature Albino model Shaun Ross, Jay West, Savanna Hoge and androgynous model Andrej Pejic. In keeping with current trends the snapback is their key item with short, punchy & some offensive text emblazoned across the front in 3D acrylic fonts. Reminiscent of headgear favoured by NWA and the 90s hip hop era this collection takes on a twisted view on that hard image using gender bending ideas and your non conventional type models.

Designer Rembrandt Duran says the idea behind this collection was to pay tribute to the gay community and names drag queen Ru Paul as the muse of his latest creations.

“One must always have charisma, uniqueness, nerve & talent” is quoted from Ru Pauls hit show Ru Pauls Drag Race and is what Rembrandt uses to justify his use of the naughty “C*nt” snapback message this season. Check out footage below from behind the scenes.

This collection is hard hitting and edgy. Love it. Love Adeen.

When I first laid eyes on the lookbook I immediately loved the brand, and after visitng their website I love them even more. Nostalgia set in as the site loaded and the landing page was an Adeen version of the Sonic the Hedgehog intro screen! Check it out.
